Entangled Liberation (13" × 19")

$35.00

This poster emerged from studies of anti-colonial feminism during the COVID pandemic. At the heart of a struggle for liberation of an oppressed minority, we ask others to lean in to being present as an accomplice, not just an ally to those seeking deep change.

The words draw from a quote the 1970s, in lands that are now called Queensland, among Murri activists for Aboriginal Rights. This quote is often credited to Lilla Watson, a Murri artist, activist, and academic--delivered at the 1985 UN Decade for Women Conference. Watson herself attributes the phrase to a collective authorship developed in the 1970s.

“If you have come here to help me you are wasting your time, but if you have come because your liberation is bound up with mine, then let us work together.”

Available as Large Vertical Poster (13 × 19 in) printed on gloss cover stock.
